Mahidasa Sangitha Vidyalaya And Culchural Centre

We started Mahidasa Sangitha Vidyalaya And Culchural Centre because we wanted a space in Andheri where people could actually learn music properly. It is located over in Rabrindranath Tagore Nagar, right in the Lokhandwala area. Most days you will find kids coming in after school for classes, and sometimes adults too who just want to pick up a new hobby or get back into singing. We have been here for a bit now. The rooms aren't huge but they work for what we need. We do music lessons and some cultural events when the space is free. It gets a bit noisy sometimes with all the instruments going at once, but that is just how it is. People from around the 585 area usually walk over. We don't have a big fancy office or anything like that. It is just a place for the community to come and practice. Some of the teachers have been with us for a long time. We try to keep things simple and focus on the learning part of it. If you are looking for us, we are near the main road there. It is easy to find if you know the landmark. We don't do much advertising, mostly just people telling their neighbors about us. It stays busy enough. We just like keeping the local traditions going through the music classes and whatever else we can manage to organize during the week. It is a good way to spend the day and we enjoy seeing people improve.
