King Sweets

King Sweets is tucked away in Shivaji Nagar 5, and it has been part of the landscape for a good while. The shop sits right where the crowd is thickest, especially during the middle of the day. We open the doors early in the morning, usually while the street cleaners are still finishing up their rounds. The glass cases stay filled with whatever we have ready for the day, and we spend a lot of time wiping away fingerprints that people leave behind. Shivaji Nagar 5 is a place that never really sleeps, so there is always some kind of noise coming in from outside. We have a few simple lights that keep the place bright enough to see what you are picking out. The tiles on the floor are old and a bit faded in the spots where people stand the most. We don't have a big staff, just enough of us to handle the people who come in looking for something quick. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit and we have to use the back-up, but we just keep going. It isn't a place where you sit and linger for hours, most people just come in, get what they want, and head back out into the busy street. We focus on keeping the trays full and making sure the counters stay clear of clutter. It is a basic setup for a basic day.
