King Doodle

Our spot is on the 8th floor of The Estate building on Dickenson Road in Bangalore. Being up this high means we get a decent view of the city traffic, which is usually a mess down there. Inside King Doodle, it's a bit of a mix of computer screens and notebooks. We aren't the type to have everything perfectly organized, so you'll see pens and half-empty coffee mugs on most desks. The elevator takes a while sometimes, so a few of us just use the stairs if we’re feeling energetic, though eight floors is a lot in this heat. We focus on our designs and sketches, trying to figure out what looks right. It’s mostly a quiet atmosphere except for the sound of typing or someone arguing about a color choice. We’ve been in this Dickenson Road office for a bit now and it feels like home. There is a small pantry where we hang out when the work gets a bit too much. Bangalore weather is usually okay, so we keep the windows shut for the AC but we can still see the trees outside. It’s just a group of us trying to make things that look good without overcomplicating the process. We don’t have big meetings; we just talk across the desks to get things done. It is a simple way of working that seems to suit everyone here. We just show up, do our thing, and go home after a long day.
