About Kartiks Mithai Shoppe – Food & Beverages in Bengaluru
Our little shop is tucked away on 9th Cross in HAL 2nd Stage. If you know the 2nd Main area, we’re at number 153. It’s not a very big space, so it gets crowded pretty quickly on festival days or even just on a Sunday morning. We spend most of our time in the back, making sure the sweets are ready for the morning rush. My hands usually smell like cardamom or sugar by the time I head home. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so you’ll often see the same faces every time you walk in. We don't have fancy displays or anything, just the usual glass cases. Sometimes the floor gets a bit sticky, but we try to mop it whenever there’s a quiet moment. Dealing with the suppliers is probably the hardest part of the job, making sure we get the milk and ghee on time. We don't really do much online, we prefer when people just come by and tell us what they want. The neighborhood has changed a lot since we started, with more cars and new buildings, but we’re still here in the same spot. It’s a lot of standing on your feet all day, which gets tiring, but seeing the regulars makes it better. We aren't looking to open ten more branches or anything like that. We just want to keep this one going and do a decent job for the folks around here.
