Joy Ice Creams

We are located over in the Basavanagudi area, specifically near Banashankari 19. It’s a nice part of town with a lot of old trees and families. Our shop is where people come when they need something cold to eat. The freezers are always running, making that low buzzing sound in the background. We spend a lot of our time checking the temperatures to make sure nothing melts. On weekends, the place is full of kids making a lot of noise. They get sticky fingers and leave marks on the glass, so we are always wiping things down with a damp cloth. It’s a simple setup with a few benches outside for people to sit. We don’t have a big menu, just the things we know people like. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to scramble to keep everything frozen. Those are the stressful days for us. Mostly, it’s just a steady flow of people coming in after dinner. We stay open late because that’s when most folks want a treat. The lights from the shop shine out onto the dark sidewalk. We see the same faces every week. It’s a good way to spend the day, talking to neighbors and scooping out portions. We don’t use any fancy tech, just a scoop and some napkins. It’s been this way for a long time and we don't see a reason to change.
