Joseph Ice Cream

Down here at 66 Abraham Pandither Road, things stay pretty steady. We are right in the heart of Attar Mohalla. Most people know this street, and Joseph Ice Cream has been part of it for some time now. It’s a bit of an older neighborhood, so you get that local feel where everyone knows each other. The shop is tucked into the ground floor of the building. It’s not a big corporate place, just a small shop where we keep the freezers packed. In the afternoons, the sun hits the front of the store, so we keep the shutters halfway or use the awning to stay cool. We see a lot of kids from the nearby houses coming in with their pocket money. It’s mostly just us working here, making sure the floors are swept and the stock is full. We don’t do much advertising; people just walk by and see the sign. It’s a simple life running an ice cream shop on this road. Sometimes the traffic outside gets a bit loud with the bikes and carts, but inside it’s just the sound of the cooling units. We have a few benches if people want to sit for a minute, but most just grab their stuff and go. It’s a practical business. We focus on having what people like, whether it’s a stick or a cup. Being in Attar Mohalla means we get all sorts of people, and we try to be friendly to everyone who steps through the door.
