Iyengaars Sweets

At Iyengaars Sweets on J P Nagar Street Rangi Ram 39/3, we spend most of our day covered in flour and sugar. It’s a small family operation that’s been running for a long time. We wake up early to start the ovens because the baking takes a while. The shop isn't very big, so when we have a lot of trays coming out, it gets quite warm inside. We have a glass counter that’s always got a few fingerprints on it because kids are always pointing at the biscuits. We don't use any big machines; most of what we make is done by hand in the back room. You can usually hear the radio playing while we work. We sell out of the popular stuff pretty fast, so sometimes people get annoyed if they come late in the evening. The shelves are wooden and look a bit old now, but they hold the weight of the tins just fine. We don't have fancy packaging or colorful boxes. We just wrap things in paper and send you on your way. It’s a simple business. We know the neighbors and they know us. Sometimes we sit out front on the steps when things are quiet.
