Himanshu Provision Stores

Our shop, Himanshu Provision Stores, is at number 12 on the 1st Main Road in Mahadevapura. It’s a typical corner store, the kind you see in every neighborhood. We sell the basics—rice, dal, oil, and whatever else people need for their daily cooking. I’ve been behind this counter for more years than I care to count. The shelves are packed tight, and sometimes I’m the only one who knows where the smaller items are hidden. We get a lot of regulars who come in every day for just one or two things. It’s nice because we get to hear all the local gossip and keep up with what’s happening on the street. Mahadevapura has grown so much lately with all the big offices nearby, but our little corner stays pretty much the same. We have a few old wooden drawers for the loose items and a big fridge for the milk and curd. The morning rush is always a bit chaotic with people trying to get things before work, but the afternoons are slower. That’s when we restock the shelves and sweep the floor. We don’t do any home delivery or anything like that; people just walk over when they need something. It’s a small, honest living. We don't use any fancy computer systems for billing; it’s mostly just paper and a calculator. It’s worked for us this long, so we don't see much reason to change it now. We just stay here.
