H L Stores

H L Stores is located at 148 Shivaji Nagar. It’s a quiet enough street compared to the main roads around the city, but we still get plenty of people passing through our doors. The building is older, and you can really tell by the way the walls look. We’ve been here at number 148 for quite a while now. The shop is basically one big room with everything we sell lined up on the wooden walls. It’s a mix of different things, mostly stuff people need for their homes on a daily basis. We don’t have a big team, just a few of us making sure things are in the right place and looking for stock. Sometimes the deliveries come late, and we have to wait around on the sidewalk for the truck. It gets very hot in the afternoons, so we have a small fan that clicks while it turns on its stand. It’s a bit of a messy place if I’m honest, but we know where everything is kept. People in Shivaji Nagar know us by name mostly because we have been around so long. We don’t do any big promotions or anything like that. We just keep the lights on and the front door open for whoever walks in. The street outside has some deep potholes that never seem to get fixed, which makes the cars go very slow. It’s a local life. We handle the inventory ourselves and try to keep things simple. It isn't some big corporate chain, just a local store that’s been part of the block for years.
