Giridhara Kaje

Out here in Malleshwaram, things move a bit differently than the rest of the city. Our place, Prashanthi Ayurvedic Centre, sits on 7th Cross, tucked away between Margosa and Sampige Road. It’s a quiet spot near the Rohidas Nagar Society. Most of the time, the air inside smells like dried roots and different oils we keep on the shelves. It isn't a hospital or anything huge, just a simple center where we deal with traditional herbs and stuff. We spend a lot of our time sorting through stock or talking to people who walk in from the Umiya Nagar side. Being near the Malleshwaram Ground means we get some of the noise from the kids playing, but inside it stays mostly calm. Giridhara Kaje is the name on the door, and we’ve been part of this neighborhood for quite some time now. We don't really do fancy advertisements or anything. Most people find us because they live nearby or someone told them where we were. The building itself is old-school, number 51, and it has that local Bangalore feel that you don't find in the newer areas. Sometimes it’s a bit cramped with all the jars and packets, but we know where everything is. We just focus on the daily tasks, making sure the place is ready for whoever comes by looking for something specific. It’s a steady life here on the cross roads of Malleshwaram, just doing things the way they’ve been done for years.
