Gajanana Arts is tucked away in Banashankari 3rd Stage, right in the Kapasia Bazar area. We are very close to the SLV Bakery, which is a great landmark because everyone knows the smell of their fresh bread. Our shop is at number 48. It’s a bit of a cluttered space, but that’s how art places usually are. We have supplies and projects scattered around. People stop by to see what we are working on or to ask for something specific to be made. The bazar is always lively, with vendors shouting and people shopping for their daily needs. We like the energy of this neighborhood. It’s not a sterile gallery; it’s a working shop. Sometimes our hands are covered in paint or dust when someone walks in. We don't mind. The lighting in the shop could be better, but we make do with what we have. Most of the people who come in are locals from Banashankari who have known us for years. We do a variety of artistic things, mostly whatever the customers ask for. It’s a small operation, just a couple of us doing the work. There is always a radio playing in the background. It’s a simple life, making things by hand and chatting with the neighbors who drop by. It keeps us busy and we don't have many complaints about the work we do day in and day out. Sometimes a project takes longer than we thought, but we just keep at it until it looks right.
