Firangi Falooda

I started this little place at 924 in Sm Nagar because I just like making things people enjoy eating on a hot day. Vivekanandapuram is always busy and there's usually a lot of noise outside our door, but we just keep at it. Most mornings start with getting the milk ready and making sure the noodles for the falooda are just right. It’s a lot of work that people don’t see, like cleaning the glass cases and making sure the ice cream stays cold enough. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to scramble, but that is just part of running a shop here. People come in after work or school, looking a bit tired, and they sit on the few chairs we have. We don't have fancy decorations or anything. It's just a counter, some syrup bottles, and us. I usually have some rose syrup on my apron by noon. It's not a big corporation or anything like that, just me and a couple of guys helping out. We try to keep things simple. If you walk past the corner, you can usually smell the sweet stuff from the street. My hands are usually sticky from the fruit and the jelly, but that’s fine. We’ve been at this spot for a while now and the neighbors know us. It’s just what we do every day from morning until we lock up late at night when the street finally gets quiet.
