Dotz N Cream

Dotz N Cream on Avenue Road Pune Bangalore Highway. Being out here on the Pune Bangalore Highway, right on Avenue Road, means we see all sorts of people. We aren't a massive rest stop with a bunch of shops. It is just Dotz N Cream, a small place for people to pull over when they are tired of driving. We started this because we realized there weren't many places to get something cold and sweet on this stretch of the road. It is often very dusty outside because of the trucks, but we try to keep it clean inside. We have a few freezers and a counter where we serve the ice cream. It is nothing fancy, just a few flavors that we like. We don't have a big team; it is usually just me and a cousin taking turns. We sit on the porch sometimes when there aren't many cars. The highway noise is constant, but you get used to it after a while. Most of our customers are families traveling between cities or truck drivers who need a five-minute break. We have a couple of plastic chairs outside, but most people just eat in their cars and move on. We don't have a mission or a fancy plan. We just stay open late and make sure the freezers are working. It is a simple life out here on Avenue Road. We have been at this spot for a few years and we know the rhythms of the highway traffic pretty well.
