We set up Doodle Hangout at Whitefield 24 because we wanted a place where we could just be ourselves without any pressure. It’s not a stiff cafe where you feel like you have to be quiet or work on a laptop all day. We have plenty of paper and pens lying around on the tables, and the walls are covered in sketches that customers have left behind over the months. Some are really good, and some are just scribbles, but we keep them all. The furniture is a bit mismatched, mostly stuff we picked up from different places or brought from home. It’s got a bit of a lived-in feel, like a friend's living room. We spend a lot of time making sure the snacks are decent and the chairs are comfortable enough to sit in for an hour or two. Whitefield can be so fast and loud, but once you step inside here, things slow down a bit. We don’t do any big promotions or have a fancy sign outside. Most people hear about us from someone else who spent an afternoon doodling here. We’re usually behind the counter, probably trying to fix a leaky tap or restocking the napkins. It’s just a casual spot for anyone who needs a break from the usual routine. No big plans, just keeping the doors open and the pens ready for whoever walks in.
