Dan'S Chocolates

Dan'S Chocolates is a small place over in JP Nagar 11. It’s not a big factory or anything. We just have a small kitchen area and a counter where we put the trays out. It smells like cocoa all the time, which is nice at first, but after eight hours, you kind of stop noticing it. We make things in small batches because that’s all the space we have. Sometimes we run out of certain things by the afternoon. People come in looking for specific bars and we have to tell them to come back tomorrow. The floor is tile and it’s a bit chipped near the entrance. We have a small fridge for the stuff that melts easily. Dealing with the heat in JP Nagar is the hardest part. We have to keep the fans going constantly. We don't use fancy wrappers with gold foil. Most things just go in a simple box or paper. It’s honest work. My hands are usually covered in sugar by midday. We get our supplies from a few regular vendors we’ve known for years. We aren't a big brand you’d see in a mall. Just a local shop where we try to make things taste right. Sometimes the batches come out a little different, maybe a bit darker or lighter, but that’s how it goes when you’re doing it by hand. It keeps us on our toes and the regulars don't seem to mind.
