Dairy Classic Ice Cream

Our place, Dairy Classic Ice Cream, sits right on Kanakapura Road at number 55. If you know the area, you know how much traffic passes by here every single day. It’s a lot of noise and dust outside, but inside we try to keep things cool and quiet for whoever walks in. We aren't a big corporate chain with a lot of fancy rules; it’s just us running the shop and making sure the tubs are filled. The freezers hum away in the background all day long, and we’ve gotten so used to the sound we barely hear it anymore. We spend a lot of time just chatting with the regulars who stop in on their way home from work. Since we are on the main road, we get plenty of travelers too, people just passing through who need something cold before they keep driving. It’s a simple setup with a few chairs and the counter where we serve. We don't do much in the way of decoration because we think the ice cream should be the main thing people care about. Every morning we check the stock and wipe down the counters, getting ready for the next wave of people. It’s a steady kind of work, and we like being a small part of the Kanakapura Road landscape after all these years of serving the local community.
