About Bharathiya Sangeetha Vidyalaya – Art & Craft in Bengaluru
Bharathiya Sangeetha Vidyalaya is our little music school over at Kanakanagar 316. It’s not a huge institution or anything, just a place where music is part of the daily life. You can usually hear someone practicing if you walk past the door. We have rooms for different instruments and spaces where students sit and learn. The building at 316 is an older one, and it has its quirks, like a door that squeaks or a floor that’s a bit uneven in places, but it works for us. We don't have a lot of fancy furniture. Instead, we have mats and chairs and music stands scattered around. It’s a bit of a humble setup, but we like it that way because it feels more personal. Kanakanagar is a decent area to be in, and we’ve become a small fixture of the neighborhood. People know that this is the place to come for music. We don't spend money on big advertisements or anything like that. Most of our work is just teaching and listening to the notes being played day after day. It can get a bit loud during the peak hours when multiple classes are going on at once, but that’s just the sound of people working hard at their craft. We keep the place clean, we keep the instruments in tune as much as we can, and we just focus on the lessons. It’s a simple, honest way to spend the day.
