You can find us over in Maruthi Seva Nagar, up on the first floor of the Shivaraj Building in RS Palya. It’s a bit of a quiet spot compared to the main markets, which suits us just fine. We have stacks of books and papers everywhere you look. It’s the kind of place where you have to be careful where you walk so you don't trip over a box that just arrived. We spend a lot of time sorting through different titles and making sure the shelves are somewhat organized, though it never stays that way for long. The light comes in through the side windows in the morning, which makes it a nice place to sit and read through the mail. We don't have a big staff, so whoever is closest to the door usually handles whoever walks in. Sometimes the stairs are a bit much if we are carrying heavy bundles, but it keeps us moving. It’s not a high-tech office; we still use a lot of manual ledgers and handwritten notes to keep track of what we have in stock. People from the neighborhood often stop by just to see what’s new on the shelves. We usually have a radio playing low in the background to fill the silence. It’s a simple life of dealing with literature and making sure people get the materials they are looking for without making a big production out of it.
