Baskin Robbins

We are located at 17 Sadhu Vaswani Road in JP Nagar. It’s a small shop, mostly filled with the big freezer units that we have to keep running all day and night. You can hear the hum of the compressors if you stand still for a second. We spend a lot of time scooping and cleaning the glass so people can see the tubs clearly. Kids come in after school and spend ten minutes trying to decide, which we are used to by now. The JP Nagar crowd is pretty steady, especially after dinner when families walk over from the nearby houses. We have a few little stools, but most people just take their cups or cones and walk outside. The Sadhu Vaswani Road gets quite a bit of traffic, so there is always the sound of horns in the background. We keep a close eye on the temperature gauges because if those drop, we’re in trouble. Sometimes we run out of the popular flavors faster than we expect, and we have to explain that to disappointed customers. It is a simple job, really. We keep the floor mopped because sticky drips are part of the territory here. It feels like a neighborhood fixture now, just a bright little spot on the street where the lights stay on late. Most nights we are just finishing up the final cleaning when the last few customers wander in.
