Our Baskin B R Robbins shop is right here on St Marks Road, near Bombay Conductor Road. It’s a busy stretch of road, so we get all kinds of people walking in. Some are just looking to cool off for a minute and others are there for a full treat. We have the usual setup with all the tubs of ice cream lined up. We spend a lot of time making sure the scoops are clean between flavors so the tastes don't mix too much. The shop can get a bit loud when the street traffic is heavy outside, but we’re used to it. We don't have a lot of staff, so we all do a bit of everything, from ringing up customers to mopping the back room. Sometimes we have regulars who come in every week for the same thing. It’s nice to see familiar faces. We try to keep the place looking decent, though the trash can fills up pretty fast on weekends. It’s just an ice cream shop on a busy street. We don’t try to be anything else. Sometimes a freezer might make a loud noise and we have to call someone to look at it. We just keep serving scoops and hope the power doesn't go out on us. St Marks Road is always moving, and we’re just here doing our part every day, scooping ice cream for whoever comes through the door and wants something sweet.
