B Rangaswamy And Sons

Our shop is right across from Davanam Jewellery on Avenue Road. We have been B Rangaswamy and Sons for a long time, and the "Sons" part is actually true. My brothers and I are usually the ones you will see behind the counter. Our father started this place at number 156. It is a tight space, but we make it work. Avenue Road is always packed with people and carts, so it can be a bit of a struggle just to get to the door some mornings. We handle a bit of everything, mostly traditional items that folks in the area need. We don't have a website or anything like that. We just rely on people walking by or regulars who have been coming here since they were young. The building is old, and the floors creak a bit, but it has character. We do not use a lot of fancy technology either. We still use the old ledgers for a lot of things. It is just how we were taught. Even though we are listed with Vadodara in the records sometimes, we are right here in the thick of the local market on Avenue Road. It is noisy and busy, but we would not want to be anywhere else. We know the tea seller next door and the guys across the street. It is a real community here. Just a simple family business trying to keep things going.
