Alison Arts & Crafts

Our shop, Alison Arts & Crafts, is situated at 14 Commercial Street in the Panchavati area. You can find us right above the Man store, so just head up the stairs. It’s a cozy space filled with all sorts of materials for people who like to make things by hand. We’ve got yarns, beads, paints, and plenty of fabric scraps scattered around. It’s not the most organized place in the world, but most of our regular customers seem to like digging through the bins to find something unique. My aunt and I run the place together. We spend most of our time helping people figure out how much thread they need for a project or showing them a new knitting stitch. Commercial Street is always packed with shoppers, so it can get pretty loud, but up here it’s a bit more peaceful. We don’t do any big promotions or sales events. People mostly hear about us from their friends or family members. Sometimes we have a few people sitting in the corner working on their own crafts while they chat. It feels more like a hobby room than a business sometimes, but we still have to keep track of the stock and pay the bills. We just enjoy being part of the local community and seeing what people create with the things they buy from our shelves. It is a lot of work to keep things going but we do alright.
