Ali N Arts

Ali N Arts is located right across from the Hockey Club at 14/2 in the Richmond Town Main Market. We’ve been in this neighborhood for a long time, and the shop has become a bit of a fixture on the street. We do a lot of different things related to art, mostly framing pictures or selling supplies to students and local artists. The shop is usually a bit of a mess, with rolls of paper and wooden frame moldings leaning against the walls. We don’t have a big staff, just me and a helper who comes in during the afternoons. The market is always a busy place, so there’s a lot of activity right outside our door. Sometimes people come in just to look around or ask about a specific type of paint. We try to help out as much as we can, even if we don’t always have exactly what they’re looking for. The building is an old one, and the floors creak when you walk on them, which adds a bit of character to the place. We don't use any fancy computer systems for our orders; we just write everything down in a big ledger book. It’s a very hands-on business, and we like it that way. If you’re ever near the Hockey Club, you can’t miss us. We’re usually there from morning until the sun goes down, just working on whatever project is currently on the table. It is nice to see the work finished.
