If you come down to Sri Nagar in the Ambawadi area, you’ll find us at 1038/37. This is where Akshay Ice Creams is based. It’s a decent neighborhood to work in. We spend most of our time around the freezers and the loading area. Working with ice cream means you have to move fast before things start to melt, especially when it’s hot outside. The shop floor is usually cold, which is nice in the summer but a bit tough in the winter. We have a small crew. Most of us live nearby, so the commute isn't too bad. We don’t have a fancy website or a big PR person. We just make the ice cream and sell it. Sometimes the machines act up and we have to spend the whole afternoon fixing a belt or a motor. It’s part of the routine. The address 1038/37 has become like a second home to most of the guys here. We have some regular customers who stop by just to chat. It’s not a corporate vibe at all. We wear regular clothes and get our hands dirty. Sri Nagar is a busy place, and we fit right in. We keep the inventory moving and try to keep the floors clean, even though there’s always a bit of a spill here and there. It’s just a normal business. We aren't trying to change the world. We just want to make sure the boxes are loaded and the deliveries are on time.
