Adithaya Ice Cream

Adithaya Ice Cream. We’re located over at Banashankari 75. It’s a small shop, nothing too big. Mostly we just spend our time keeping the freezers running so nothing melts. It’s surprisingly hard work because the power sometimes acts up in this part of town. We’ve got a couple of small tables, but most people just grab something and walk down the street. It gets really busy after school hours when the kids start wandering over. You can hear them laughing from a block away. We’ve seen a lot of kids grow up over the years right here. The shop has stayed pretty much the same. We haven't changed the paint in a long time, but it feels like home to us. Sometimes the neighbors come in just to cool off for a few minutes while they're out running errands. We spend a lot of time wiping down the counters because things get sticky pretty fast. My hands are always cold from reaching into the bins. It’s not a bad way to spend the day, really. We just keep things simple. The evening is usually when we get the most people stopping by on their way home from work. It’s nice to see the familiar faces every day. We just stay here until the sun goes down and then some. It’s just us and the cold boxes, waiting for the next person to walk through the door and ask for a scoop.
