Adarsh Papad

Our family has been running Adarsh Papad for quite some time now. We are located over on BVK Iyengar Road, specifically at 12th Cross near Ragaswami Temple Street. It’s a very busy part of the city, and the streets are always crowded with people and carts moving goods back and forth. We make papads in the traditional way, mostly focusing on getting the taste right without using any additives. It’s a bit of a cramped space because we have to store a lot of stock. When you walk in, you can smell the spices and the lentil flour immediately. It’s a strong smell, but it’s what we grew up with. We sell to individual customers who walk in and also to some of the smaller shops nearby. My father used to handle everything, but now I do most of the day-to-day stuff. We do not spend money on advertising or fancy packaging. The bags are simple. If the quality is good, people come back, and that has been our way of doing things for years. BVK Iyengar Road is a tough place to work because of the heat and the noise, but we are used to it by now. We usually start early in the morning before the sun gets too high. By the afternoon, we are mostly just packing things up for the next day's orders. It’s simple work, but it keeps us busy and connected to the neighborhood. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
