You can find us over in Whitefield at house number 256 in the Govindnagar Society, near Palm Meadows. We are right in the Ramagondana Halli area. Our center is basically a house that we’ve opened up for liberal arts stuff. It’s not a big institution with a glass front; it’s a homey place where people can come and talk about different things. Whitefield is usually so busy and loud with all the tech parks, but our little corner in the society is actually quite peaceful. We have various rooms where we hold talks or workshops, and the vibe is very casual. We don’t have a lot of staff, so you’ll usually see the same few faces every time you visit. We might be moving chairs around or setting up some tea for a guest. It’s a small operation and we like it that way because it lets us actually talk to everyone who comes through the door. We aren’t trying to be a huge school or a big corporate entity. We just wanted a space for arts and ideas in this part of Bangalore. Sometimes the garden needs weeding or the gate gets stuck, but that’s just part of running a place like this. It’s a bit of a hidden spot, but the people who find us usually keep coming back for the conversations. It is a nice way to spend an evening away from the office.
