A1 Fruit Stall

A1 Fruit Stall is right there on the Yeshwantpur Ring Road, inside the Shree Jagdamba Market. If you’ve ever been to the market, you know it’s a noisy and colorful place to be. We get here very early in the morning, usually while it’s still dark outside. That’s when the trucks come in with all the fresh fruit from the farms. We spend the first few hours of the day sorting through crates of apples, oranges, and whatever else is in season. Our hands are usually sticky by sunrise. The stall is just a simple setup with wooden crates and some bright lights to show off the fruit. We don’t have fancy displays or pre-packaged bags. People come by and pick what they like, and we weigh it on the old scale. The Ring Road is always loud with trucks and buses passing by, but we don’t notice it much anymore. It’s just the background of our day. We talk to the other vendors a lot, mostly about the prices and the weather. If the rain comes, we have to scramble to pull the plastic sheets over everything. It’s a lot of standing and moving around, so we’re usually pretty tired by the time we close. But it’s good to see people taking home fresh stuff for their families. We just keep it simple and stay busy until the sun sets and we head back.
