About Poromartha Tea And Tea Farms Association – Agriculture & Farming in Barpeta
Poromartha Tea And Tea Farms Association is tucked away in Kachupather Moranjan. We’re over at House No. 115, which belongs to Gopal Gogoi. This is in the Charaideo area of Sibsagar, a place known for its tea. Being an association means we are a bit of a mix of different people and small farms all coming together. We don't have a big shiny headquarters; it’s more of a community-run thing from a family home. Tea is a big part of life here in Assam, and we are right in the middle of it. Our days are filled with talks about leaves, weather, and how to get the best out of the bushes. It’s not always a smooth process. Sometimes there are disagreements or the market prices don't go our way. But we stick together because it makes more sense than working alone. We have deep roots in Sibsagar, and most of us have been around tea since we were kids. We aren't trying to sell you a dream; we just manage the tea farms and help the members of our association. It’s practical, everyday work. You might find us sitting on the porch at Gopal’s house discussing the latest pluck. We don't have fancy brochures or a PR person. We just have our tea and the work we do together to keep things running in Kachupather. It’s just how we do things here.
