Kisanmanzil Farmers Producer Company Limited is located over at Abdul Jalil Bhuyan’s place in Village-Kalgachia. This is right in the Mouza Rupshi area near the post office and police station for Kalgachia. We have been part of this village life since we were kids. Most of us grew up watching our fathers and grandfathers work these same plots of land. Now we are trying to do things a bit more formally. Abdul Jalil’s house is where we keep all the records and where we sit down to talk about our plans. It is a busy spot especially during the planting season. Everyone in Kalgachia knows where it is. We do not use any fancy language here. We just talk about what needs to be done. Sometimes we worry about the river or the lack of rain but that is just part of the job. Being a producer company means we have to think about more than just the dirt. We have to think about selling and transport and all those other things that used to be a secondary thought. It is a lot of responsibility for a group of local farmers. We are learning as we go. Some days are better than others. We just want to make sure that our kids have a reason to stay in the village and keep the farms going. It is about keeping our community alive and working.
