Subh Vikalp Fatepur Farmer Producer Company Limited is based in Gram-Khaira, which is in the Bhagauli part of Fatehpur, Barabanki. We’re a group of local farmers who decided to pool our resources. It’s a lot easier to get things done when you aren't doing it all by yourself. Our main spot is right here in the village. It’s not a fancy glass office like you’d see in the city. It’s just a place where we keep our tools and our records. Most of our meetings happen sitting outside or in the main room of the building. We’ve been working this land in Barabanki for generations, so we know what we’re doing. We don't need any high-level consultants to tell us about farming. We just talk to each other and figure out the best way to move forward. The road to Khaira can be a bit rough during the monsoon, but we’re used to it. We keep things simple and honest. If a crop fails, we talk about why. If it does well, we share the success. It’s a practical way to live. We aren't looking to become some massive enterprise. We just want to make sure the families in Fatehpur have a fair shot. If you’re ever out this way, you’ll see us working in the fields or gathered at the office in Gram-Khaira. We're just neighbors working together, trying to make the most of what we have.
