Out here in Nawabganj, life revolves around the market and the fields. Barabanki Agromart Producer Company Limited is based out of Deendayal Nagar, specifically at Shanker Pd Verma’s place. It’s easy to find if you know the area. We aren’t some big corporation from the city; we are just local people trying to make the agromart side of things work for the farmers around here. Shanker and the rest of us spend most of our time figuring out how to get the right supplies to the right people without too much fuss. It gets busy during the planting season, and sometimes the house feels more like a busy warehouse than a home. People are always coming and going, asking about fertilizers or which seeds are doing well this year. We started this because we saw how hard it was for individual farmers to get what they needed at prices that made sense. In a place like Barabanki, you have to look out for your neighbors. It’s not always easy, and we have had our share of mistakes and learning curves along the way. Sometimes the truck is late or the paperwork gets a bit messy, but we just keep going. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything like that. We just have a desk, some chairs, and a lot of talk about farming. It’s just how things are done here in our part of the world, and we are fine with that.
