Anant Enterprises

Anant Enterprises is situated right by the Maharana Pratap Circle on the road to Udaipur. It is a spot where a lot of people pass through, so we get all kinds of visitors. We deal in a bit of everything, mostly supplies that people need for their houses or small construction jobs. The shop has been here for a while, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint. We have shelves full of boxes, and sometimes it takes us a minute to find exactly what someone is looking for. It is not a high-tech operation; we still write down most of our sales in a big ledger book. My cousin helps me out during the busy hours, especially when the trucks arrive with new stock. The Udaipur Road can get very noisy and dusty, so we spend a lot of time cleaning the front of the shop. We do not really have a fancy display or anything like that. Things are just stacked where they fit. We know the regular customers by name and often sit out front for a chat when things are quiet. It is a local business through and through. We work long days, from early morning until the sun goes down, just trying to keep everything moving. It is steady work and it keeps the family fed. Sometimes we run out of specific parts, but we always try to order them in quickly for the neighbors.
