We are Azamatgarh Fed Farmer Producer Company Limited, and we work out of Pranpur in the Sagari area of Azamgarh. Our main spot is over at Ram Kunwar Singh’s place. We are a small group of farmers from Naukapura and the surrounding villages. Most of us have been doing this since we were kids helping our parents. There's no corporate office or fancy reception desk here. It's just a place where we meet to talk about the fields and the prices of what we are growing. We started this group because it was getting harder to handle all the costs of farming alone. We try to help each other out with seeds and getting things to the market. It’s a lot of work, and usually, our hands are dirty from being out in the mud all day. We don't use any marketing tricks or big words to describe what we do. We grow crops and we try to sell them for a fair price so we can keep going. Azamgarh is our home, and we know every corner of these fields. Sometimes things go well, and sometimes they don't, depending on the weather. We just deal with whatever comes our way. Our setup is basic and practical because that is what we need to survive. We are just people who live by the seasons and the land. It’s a slow life, but it’s our life.
