Padmavathi Granites

Down in Tadipatri, near Anantapur, you will find Padmavathi Granites. This area is pretty well known for stone, so there are a lot of us around, but we just focus on our own yard. The sun is usually beating down on the granite slabs, making them hot to the touch by midday. We spend a lot of our time moving these heavy pieces with the machinery. It’s a lot of work and it keeps us busy from morning until the sun goes down. The ground is covered in stone chips and dust, which is pretty standard for a place like this. We don’t have a big fancy office, just a place to sit and some shade to get out of the heat. Tadipatri is a rugged sort of place, and our business fits right in with that environment. We handle a lot of different types of granite, and every day we are loading or unloading something new. It’s hard on the back, but we have a good routine down. People from all over the Anantapur area come by because they know this is where the stone is. We just show them what we have available in the stacks. There’s no pressure, just people looking at stone and us helping them move it. It’s a practical, straightforward business and we don’t try to make it seem like more than it really is.
