Ravindra Tiles

Indiranagar in Dharmavaram is where we set up our shop at number 78996. It’s basically a massive room filled with crates of tiles. If you walk in, you’ll see stacks of ceramic and porcelain everywhere. We don’t really have a showroom with fancy lighting. You just see the tiles as they are, sitting in their boxes. Moving these things is hard on the back, so we take a lot of breaks. We’ve been here for a few years now, and the locals know us as the place to go when they need to finish a floor. The dust is a constant thing here. No matter how much we sweep, there’s always a thin layer of white powder on everything. It’s just part of the job. We have different patterns, some with flowers and some that look like plain stone. We don’t really try to talk anyone into buying anything. We just show them what’s in stock and let them decide. Sometimes the delivery truck is late because the roads in Dharmavaram get blocked up, but people are usually patient. We keep a small stove in the back to make tea for ourselves and the drivers. It’s a straightforward way to make a living. We don't have a big corporate office or anything. It's just the shop floor and a small desk where we keep the receipts and the pen that usually runs out of ink.
