We're based at House No.1 in Gali No.3, over in Guru Gobind Singh Nagar. It’s right off East Majitha Road. Being in a residential area like this keeps us grounded. Shridhar Varun Architect started this small practice to help neighbors and local families get their homes built properly. We aren't a big agency with a dozen floors. Our office is more like a workspace where we actually get our hands dirty with the details. We spend a lot of time looking at site levels and trying to figure out why a drain won't work where the owner wants it. It’s a lot of back and forth with workers and suppliers. Sometimes we get stuck in traffic on Majitha Road, but that’s just part of life here. We don't spend money on fancy advertisements or polished brochures. Most people find us because they saw a house we worked on down the street. We just try to be practical. If a room doesn't need to be huge, we'll say so. We like using simple materials that last. The desk is usually covered in site maps and half-eaten snacks because the days can get pretty long. Architecture is mostly just solving puzzles about space and light, and that’s what we do every day in Gali No.3. It’s quiet here most of the time, which helps when we need to focus on a difficult set of calculations for a new project.
