I’m located at B-175 on Ranjit Avenue. This has been my work spot for quite some time. It’s a fairly well-known area, so people usually don't have too much trouble finding the place. My days are mostly spent at the drawing board or heading out to check on construction sites. I’ve always preferred a more hands-on approach. The office is filled with rolls of paper, samples of granite, and various hardware bits. It might look a little disorganized to an outsider, but I know where everything is. Ranjit Avenue is a nice place to work from; it has a good energy. I handle the design work from start to finish, which means I’m often juggling five different things at once. I don't go for anything too fancy or over-the-top. My focus is just on making sure the building looks right and the client is happy with the space. Sometimes the weather makes site visits tough, but that’s just part of the job. I’ve seen a lot of houses go up in this area over the years. It’s satisfying to see a project go from a rough sketch on a napkin to a real house where people are living. I just keep at it, one project at a time, making sure the math adds up. Sometimes I have to stay late to finish up a permit application or fix a measurement that wasn't quite right on the first try.
