Goldi Arora Architect

My office, Goldi Arora Architect, is tucked away in Guru Nanak Nagar. It’s on Lane-1, right at F 9, 844. Most people know the area because of Samarat Bakery nearby. If you can smell the bread, you are pretty close to us. Working on Batala Road has its perks because there is always something happening outside. I started this practice to handle local building needs without all the fuss you find in bigger cities. It’s just a small space where I keep my drafting tools and a lot of files. The walls are covered in old projects and notes I’ve scribbled over the years. I spend a lot of time visiting sites around Guru Nanak Nagar and then coming back here to fix the drawings. It is a quiet street usually, except when the bakery is busy. I don't really use big words to describe what I do. I draw houses and buildings. I make sure the stairs fit and the rooms are the right size. Sometimes I’m here late finishing a set of prints. It’s just me and occasionally some help when things get really backed up. I like the neighborhood and the people around here. It feels good to be a part of the local community on Batala Road. There isn't any corporate polish here, just a desk, a chair, and a lot of work to get through every week. I just focus on the drawings.
