Toys & Joy Play School

We have been running Toys & Joy Play School for quite some time now at 9/8 Subhash Nagar in the Mumfordganj area. It is a quiet part of Allahabad, mostly houses and some small shops nearby. Our building is a standard house that we have set up for the kids. It doesn't look like a formal office or a big institution. We think this helps the children feel less scared when they come here for the first time. There is a small front yard where we have some basic play equipment like a slide and a couple of swings. The metal is a bit worn from the sun, but it still works fine. Inside, we have divided the rooms so the younger ones have their own space to nap and play. We don't have a big staff, just a few local ladies who are good with children and know how to handle the morning fuss. Usually, the day starts with some basic songs and rhymes. We have plenty of plastic blocks and picture books that are a bit dog-eared from years of use. It gets quite lively during the lunch break when everyone sits together. We aren't trying to be a fancy academy with high-tech gadgets. It is just a simple place where kids can be kids while their parents are busy. Most of our students come from the families living in the surrounding streets. We know almost everyone who walks through the door.
