Ashi Restaurant

Ashi Restaurant is tucked away in K L Kydganj. If you find the police booth in Kydganj, you are basically right there. Allahabad has a lot of little spots like ours, but we’ve been here in this 211003 area for a good stretch of time. The street is usually filled with people walking to the local market or heading home. We don’t have a massive dining hall, just a few tables where folks can sit. The lighting inside isn't the brightest, but it works for what we need. We spend most of our mornings prepping vegetables and getting the stove ready. It can get pretty humid here, especially during the monsoon season, and the walls sometimes feel a bit damp. We don't have any fancy decorations on the walls, maybe just an old calendar or two. Most of our customers are locals who live just a few streets away. They know our names and we know theirs. It's a quiet sort of business, not like the big places in the city center. We don’t have a website or anything like that; we just open the doors and see who walks in. The police from the booth nearby come in sometimes when they have a break. It's just a normal part of the Kydganj neighborhood. We do our work, clean up at night, and then do it all again the next day. It is just how things go.
