Deshi Rasoi

Deshi Rasoi is on Katra Road in Allahabad, right above the Bata showroom. We are near the Netram Crossing, which is a very famous and busy spot in the Katra area. If you know Allahabad, you know how crowded this crossing gets. There are students from the university, shoppers, and people just hanging out. Our place is upstairs, so you have to walk up from the street level. It gets a bit hot up there sometimes, but we have the fans going all day. We started this place because we wanted to serve food that tastes like it was made at home. Deshi means local, and that is exactly what we are. We don't have fancy decorations or expensive furniture. It’s just tables and chairs and good food. The view from the windows is just the street below with all the rickshaws and cars. It can be a bit chaotic outside, but we try to keep it calm inside for everyone. We’ve been here at 224-A for a long time now. Most of our customers are regulars who come every week. We don't do any big advertising or posters. People just find us or hear about us from their friends and family. It’s a simple way to run a business. We just focus on the cooking and hope people like what we make. That is all we really want.
