We’ve been here at 2roti 2boti Restaurant for a while now, tucked away in the lower ground of Sheesh Mahal Tower. It's right on Dayanand Marg in Civil Lines. If you know Allahabad, you know this part of town gets quite busy. We’re just opposite the Dhobi Ghat Petrol Pump, right by the Hari Masjid. It’s a simple setup. We spend most of our mornings getting the kitchen ready and making sure the flour is right for the rotis. The name kind of says it all, doesn’t it? Just some good meat and bread to fill you up. Sometimes the stairs down to the basement are a bit narrow, but people find us anyway. We see the same faces every week, mostly folks working around Civil Lines who need a quick lunch. We don't do anything fancy with the decor. It’s just tables, chairs, and the smell of spices coming from the back. Dealing with the traffic on Dayanand Marg can be a headache sometimes, especially when the petrol pump gets crowded, but we like it here. It's our little corner of the city. We just keep the stove going and wait for whoever walks through the door. It’s not a big operation, just us doing what we know. If you're looking for us, look for the tower near the masjid. We’re usually around from morning until the dinner rush ends. We also try to keep the water cool for our guests.
