Balthazaar The Restaurant

Balthazaar The Restaurant is located at 7D / 2A, Tashkand Marg in Civil Lines, Allahabad. We are right by Dr Lal Pathology. The 211001 area is a central part of the city and we’ve been here for a good while. The restaurant is quite spacious and has high ceilings. We try to keep the place clean, but the dust from the road outside always finds a way in. I started this with a friend because we both liked to cook. It’s been a lot of work and we are here most days from morning until late at night. We have a mix of tables and some sofas that are starting to show their age. The menu is just a few pages of things we know how to make well. We don't have a fancy chef with a tall hat. It’s just us and a couple of local guys in the kitchen. Sometimes the air conditioner makes a loud rattling noise, but it still cools the room. We get a lot of students from the local colleges who come in to hang out. We don't mind as long as they order something to eat or drink. We don't do any big promotions or ads. We just open the doors and see who comes in. The street can be quite busy during the day. We have a few plants outside that we try to keep alive. It’s a simple life running a restaurant in Allahabad and we just take it day by day. That is our way of doing things now.
