Palla Dhaba

Palla Dhaba is right there on the Byepass Highway Rd near Handiya. Being out on the highway means we get all sorts of people stopping by at odd hours. Most of our regulars are truck drivers who need a place to park and eat something heavy before they continue their journey toward Allahabad or further down the road. It is a dusty spot because of all the construction and traffic, but that is just how it is on the bypass. We have some outdoor seating and some inside too. It is not a quiet place because of the horns and the engines, but it feels alive. We start early in the morning to get the tea going and sometimes we stay open quite late if there is a lot of traffic. The 211001 area is mostly about transit. We don't spend money on big signs or advertisements. People just see the lights and pull over. My brother and I look after most of the work ourselves with a couple of helpers from the village nearby. We serve whatever is fresh for the day. If you are looking for a fancy restaurant, this isn't it. It's just a dhaba where the food is hot and the chai is strong. We’ve seen the highway change a lot over the years, but we just keep doing what we know.
