Old Town

You can find us over at 60-H/2 on Thornhill Road. We are right in the Civil Lines area of Allahabad, which is usually quite a lively part of town. The Tanishk showroom is a good landmark if you are trying to locate us for the first time. We’ve been operating in this spot for a while now. Running a place called Old Town means we deal with a lot of different people coming in and out throughout the day. It’s not always easy keeping up with everything. Sometimes the delivery bikes block the front or the power goes out, which is just part of living in Allahabad. The morning starts with checking the inventory and making sure the staff showed up on time. We try to keep the place tidy, but when it gets packed, things get a bit chaotic. Civil Lines has changed quite a bit since I was younger, with more shops opening up all the time. Our building is nothing special to look at, just a practical space where we do our business. Some of the neighbors have been here as long as we have. We spend a lot of time just managing the day-to-day stuff that comes up. It’s a job like any other, really. We don’t have much in the way of fancy decorations. We just focus on getting the work done and making sure people get what they came for. It’s often loud outside because of the traffic on Thornhill Road.
