Civil Lines in Allahabad is where we’ve been for a long time now. Our place is on Clive Road, right near Sangam Place. It is a busy spot, especially when the offices nearby let out for lunch. We don’t have any fancy decorations or big signs, just a simple room with enough tables for people to sit comfortably. Most of the people who come here are regulars who work in the area. They don’t want anything complicated, just a decent meal before they go back to work. Sometimes the kitchen gets a bit chaotic when everyone arrives at once, and the noise from Clive Road doesn't help much. We are just a small team of local folks trying to keep things running. You won’t find any corporate talk here. We just cook what we know. My brother handles the accounts and I usually stay in the kitchen to make sure the food is okay. The furniture is a bit old, and maybe the walls could use a new coat of paint, but it feels like home to us. If you are walking past Sangam Place and feeling hungry, you can just walk in. There is no need for a reservation or anything like that. We keep it practical and honest. It’s just how we do things in this part of town. We’ve seen the neighborhood change over the years, but we are still here in Civil Lines.
