Jade Garden Restaurant

The place is right here on Mahatma Gandhi Marg in Civil Lines. Being in a spot like 123/27 means we see a lot of people walking by every day. It’s a busy part of Allahabad. We open up the doors at Jade Garden Restaurant and just get on with things. It’s not a fancy corporate setup or anything like that. It’s just us working in the kitchen and making sure the tables are wiped down properly. Sometimes the street outside gets really noisy with all the traffic and people heading to work, but inside we try to keep it steady. We’ve been at this address for a while now. Most days are the same, just prepping food and hoping people like what they eat. We don’t have some big philosophy or a mission statement. It’s mostly just about getting the orders right and keeping the floor clean. If you walk down MG Marg, you’ll find us easily enough. Civil Lines is a good area to be in, even if parking is a bit of a headache sometimes. We just focus on the daily chores and the work at hand. The staff here are locals, so we know the neighborhood pretty well. We see the same faces every week, which is nice. It’s just a regular restaurant trying to do a decent job every single day. We don’t use any special tricks, just heat and pans and plenty of ingredients. It’s hard work, but it’s what we do. We like being part of the street here.
