Allahabad Public School

Allahabad Public School is down at 22/16 in Subedar Ganj. This part of Allahabad is usually quite busy with people moving around. Our school building is an older one, but it does the job. We have classrooms with wooden desks and blackboards that always have a bit of chalk dust on them. The teachers come in early to get their notes ready. We have a small playground, but it’s mostly just a flat space where the kids stand for the morning assembly. You can hear the school bell ringing all the way down the street when it’s time for a break. We handle a lot of students from the surrounding houses in Subedar Ganj. It gets a bit chaotic in the hallways when the classes change, but that’s normal for a school. We don't have big flashy signs or anything like that. We just focus on the lessons every day. The office is usually piled up with registers and paperwork that we have to sort through. In the summers, we make sure the fans are all working because it gets really hot in Allahabad. We have been part of this neighborhood for years. Most people around here know us just by the name. It’s a plain, working school where kids come to learn their subjects and then head home in the afternoon. We try to keep things organized but it is a lot of work with so many students and families to keep track of.
