Our group is based in Narsingpur, over in the Falakata block. We operate right out of the village here. It is a place where farming is the main thing people do. We are part of the Dhanirampur I Gram Panchayet. Life here follows the cycle of the crops. When it is time to sow, everyone is out in the fields from early morning. We set up this company to bring some order to how we sell our stuff. It isn't a big operation with a glass building. It is just us, the local farmers, sitting together and making decisions. We talk about things like fertilizer prices and where to send the grain. Some days we just talk about the weather and how the ground feels. It is honest work. We have been living here for a long time, so we know the land pretty well. Sometimes the market prices aren't great, and that is when we really have to stick together. We don't have any flashy slogans. We just want to get through the season and hope for a good yield. The village is quiet, and we like it that way. If you come by, you’ll see people busy with the cows or the plows. It’s a very practical way to live. We are just trying to keep the tradition going while making it work for today's world. There is always a lot to do, and we just take it one field at a time until the sun goes down.
